Welcome
Welcome to our new Scheme website.
Our aim is for this site to provide clear information about the British Airways Holidays Limited Retirement Benefit Scheme (“the Scheme”) and to help you find some of the documents you may need, whether you are:
A pensioner member, already receiving your pension, or
A deferred member, with benefits remaining in the Scheme to be taken at a future date. Please see the “More information about your pension” page for details on how to take your benefits.
We hope you find the information on our new website helpful, and if you are happy to receive more of our Scheme information digitally, please contact us to let us know your email address. The administration team’s contact details can be found in the panel on the right.
About the British Airways Holidays Limited Retirement Benefit Scheme
The British Airways Holidays Limited Retirement Benefit Scheme is a workplace pension set up by British Airways Holidays Limited to provide retirement benefits for its employees. Employees of Alta Holidays, British Middle East and Poundstretcher may have also been invited to join the Scheme.
People who have a pension in the Scheme typically worked for British Airways Holidays Limited, Alta Holidays, British Middle East or Poundstretcher between 1975 and 2019.
In January 2010 the Scheme closed to new joiners, and anyone starting at British Airways Holidays joined the Defined Contribution British Airways Retirement Plan. This Plan was closed in 2018 and all active members at that time were transferred to the British Airways Personal Pension Plan.
Then, on 31 March 2019, the Scheme closed to future benefits, which means that all members became deferred and instead started building up benefits in the British Airways Personal Pension Plan.
The Trustees
The Trustees manage the Scheme in line with its rules and current pension law, while safeguarding members’ best interests. Currently, there are four of us – two appointed by the Company and two nominated by members.
We meet regularly to discuss the Scheme, and are jointly responsible for taking decisions about its future. While we keep up a broad understanding of financial and investment matters – and attend training when necessary to fill any gaps in our knowledge – we also appoint professional advisers to give us expert help in specialist areas (such as actuarial and legal advice, or investment fund management).
Protect yourself from pension scams
Pension fraud remains a serious issue, especially online. Scammers are becoming increasingly sophisticated, even making use of AI. However, there are common signs to look out for to protect yourself. These include unsolicited contact about your pension, undue pressure to commit to an offer, promises of guaranteed investment returns, and offering early access to your pension savings.

The National Cyber Security Centre has a Cyber Aware website that contains up-to-date advice on how to stay secure online. For more information, visit their website at www.ncsc.gov.uk/cyberaware.
Pension Dashboards
During the 2027/28 tax year, the Government expect to launch the first Pensions Dashboard (called the ‘MoneyHelper Pensions Dashboard’) which will allow you to look at all of your pensions online in one place for the first time. We will add more information on this closer to the time of the launch. Pension Dashboards will only show pensions you are not already receiving.
